<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Denver Nuggets forward Carmelo Anthony could become the fifth NBA player in the past 13 seasons to play in the postseason the same year in which he wins the league's Rookie of the Year award. That, of course, is assuming Melo wins the award. Most have all but conceded the race to Cleveland phenom LeBron James, but Anthony might have tightened the race considerably Saturday. With James' Cavaliers out of the playoff picture, Anthony made a series of clutch baskets against the Portland Trail Blazers to give Denver a much-needed win with a chance of making the playoffs at stake. </div> Full Story

I think out of the guys the article mentioned, only Duncan and Webber had as much of an impact as Melo on his team. Mike Miller was practically a role player, and Stoudemire merely complimented the real stars on last year's Suns team.
Carmelo has had alot of help in the off-season to get his team where they are now at. However if you look at the stats Melo leads Lebron in points, rebounds,FG%, 3-point%, FT% although most of that are very close. I hope It is a co-ROY but If I had to choose one it would be Melo purely on his performances in the last month or two of the season where he has averaged close to 28 points per game. His team is in the playoffs in the tough western conference, the voters will take that very seriously when deciding the winner.

She even made that comment with his quote box there.
I personally think that LeBron is great and put up numbers. I don't like his wannabe Lil' Penny, but that's just me. But Anthony deserves this award. Alot are expecting it to go "Co/ROY". Anthony proved to be clutch when his team needed him, made it to the playoffs in the West, been playing through slight injury. The league is looking at Jersey sales and $ signs, so Anthony might get cheated.
