Anthony helped lead the you.S. National Team to the Bronze Medal and an overall record of 8-1 during this year's competition.Anthony led Team USA in scoring for the tournament with an average of 19.9 ppg in just 24.0 minutes per contest. Anthony shot .504 (64-127) from the field and .440 (22-50) from three-point range while appearing in all nine games for the United States. Carmelo's 19.9 ppg scoring average ranked as the sixth-highest among all players; while Germany's Dirk Nowitzki (23.2 ppg) was the only player with a higher average than Anthony to have played in nine games.Against Italy on Aug. 23, Anthony scored a USA-World Championship record 35 points on .722 (13-18) shooting from the field to carry Team USA to a 94-85 comeback victory during the preliminary round. Anthony also scored 27 points on .600 (9-15) shooting from the field in Team USA's 101-95 semifinal loss to Greece on Sept. 1.Joining Anthony on the All-Tournament team were Manu Ginobili of Argentina, Theo Papaloukas of Greece and Jorge Garbajosa and Pau Gasol of Spain. Gasol was also named the tournament's Most Valuable Player.</div>This is great news for Carmelo, He was the obvious MVP of Team USA.
