DREAM fighter and former K-1 competitor "Marvelous" Melvin Manhoef (22-5-1) has retired, according to reports. Manhoef, 32, won the Cage Rage Light Heavyweight Championship in 2004 and was a semi-finalist in DREAM's middleweight tournament. His career is highlighted with vicious knockout wins over Kaz Sakuraba, Ian Freeman, Cyborg Santos, and Crosley Gracie. The Dutch kickboxer was susceptible on the ground with all three of his recent losses coming by submission, most recently losing via triangle choke to Gegard Mousasi.
Melvin has unretired (two months) and will fight as an alternate at an upcoming K-1 show. So much for that.
