What are y'all doing? I'm trying to get the FUCK outta LA. I had a rez at a resort in Scottsdale but don't feel like driving 6 hours. I kind of regret cancelling now because the price has doubled. Wanted to go to chill and also to GET A HAIRCUT. Looked at Vegas, the best place to stay was the Westin Lake Las Vegas, but I called and their pool is closed. If a place off strip was open (like Red Rock) I would have totally gone there. May drive up the California Coast up to San Luis Obispo. Ventura, Santa Barbara, and SLO/Pismo are all open I believe. May also go to San Diego. That opened up as well. Rented a car for the weekend, so I can put some heavy miles on it. LA is still on lockdown for the foreseeable future. OC still locked down, but I suspect a week or two, things will start opening up.
Probably what i do most memorial days. Nothing. Actually, I usually work memorial day, so this year I won't be. So, nothing.
the older I'm getting, the less I like crowds. So I avoid beaches, rivers, the mountain. Tho I did once go to the San Diego fair, that was actually cool (it was so spread out tho, you really didn't notice there were a lot of people there).
I'm driving from Orlando to Omaha with my brother and then flying back to Florida. My dad is meeting him in Omaha and then driving the rest of the way to Oregon. He graduated a couple months ago from college but there are no jobs in his field right now, so he's moving back home. Going to spend a lot of time in a small truck, not looking forward to it.
Kids and grand kids are coming over to hang out in the pool and pig out on bar-b-que.. And no, we won't be following recommended covid practices because; 1. We don't have symptoms. 2. We won't be wearing masks because we're not going give the neighbors the satisfaction of seeing us wearing them. 3. It is a blatant violation of my constitutional rights. 4. We're all taking Hydroxychloroquine.
We'll spend a three day weekend at the shore. So weird....We entered the beach last weekend and a "beach ambassador" told us to keep moving. He was a young dude who felt bad about telling us to move along. What bullshit is this? What difference does it make if I sit in an isolated spot with my wife or be told to keep moving? Eventually restrictions will fade.
Yeah so I tried to go fishing yesterday and basically got kicked out of Montana. All the backroads out of the small towns had police road blocks at them. Interstate travel only. Could just be on the reservation though, I didn’t feel like driving another hour to find out. The dude at the first checkpoint we tried was clearly tweaking and did not look very official.
Yeah, I thought I'd take a big risk and go outside and fire up the grill. Big excitement in the Covid lockdown.
Every year I always decorate several graves. I'm the only one to decorate 8 of the 10 graves. I alone decorate the graves of my grandmother, aunt and uncle even though they have the two surviving children/grandchildren living in the area. Nobody decorates my father's grave, mother's grave, stepfather's grave nor brother's grave including those same two nephew and niece and cousins. I think me and my wife are the only ones that care. My sister-in-law and brother-in-law buried in Willamette National Cemetery do get their graves decorated by their daughter as well as by me and my wife. We clean up the graves and plant American flags in addition to the flowers for all the Veterans among our deceased loved ones. Then we fire up the grill when we get home and have a traditional meal in honor of the holiday with hamburgers, potato salad, potato chips and beer while letting the smoke from the hamburger waft over the neighborhood. Soon after, I can usually smell the smoke from other fired up grills with some hunk of beast on them.
I would have asked him what his authority was. After getting so much bull shit throughout my life I guess I've gotten a little bold. Show me the law I'm violating and how I'm violating it and I'll apologize and move on but until then, horseshit.
Looks great and I'd love to take two dozen to my dialysis unit but I'll be hooked up to a machine early Saturday morning and unable to go to a KrispyKreme.
There's a giant Mexican grocery north county Santa Barbara near Guadalupe beach that has fresh made tortas to die for....my two oldest son's live in San Luis Obispo area...I like that town on the coast
