No they are NET PTS. For instance, if Posey were to be on the floor while his team went on an 8-0 run - he'd get +8 net pts added to his season total. But if Posey was on the floor and his team went on an 2-12 drought, then he'd get -10 NET PTS calculated into his season total.

Posey and Battier. Can't say I was surprised.

If you guys snoop around that site, they have more statistical analysis than you could ever possibly need.

Some of it is quite interesting.

What I hate about these things is that they aren't accurate barrometers on the player's impact....

AN example is the Clippers +/- list....Elton Brand was near the bottom of the clippers list with a hugh negative number...Does that mean Brand has a negative impact?? or does it mean the players around him are mostly garbage

Brand plays like 38 mpg and the Clips don't have a good PG,bad PG usually makes a lot of turnovers..this means players around Brand are garbage, only Brand,Magette and Q are good there...Posey plays great D and this helps Grizzlies to play transition game(like Nets)When Kidd is on the floor they make a lot of fastbreaks thanks to Kidd's D and so is Posey doing for Memphis.

Elton Brand's team net is actually a positive number.

His overally +/- is bad because they do a lot of losing, and he plays a lot of the time.

His Roland Rating (I believe that's what it's called) is the teams differential with him on court vs. him off court.

With him on court, they're +1 net.

But that +1 is -2.6 with him on court vs. -3.6 off the court.

Meaning it's an accurate barometer of what happens while he's on the floor.

Of course the raw numbers are going to be atrocious.

This is all calculated using +/-. It's useful.
