<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Eddy Curry's agent said Saturday he has found a team that is a willing buyer in a sign-and-trade for the Bulls' center. The agent, Leon Rose, declined to name the team, but sources familiar with the negotiations said it was the Knicks. Bulls general manager John Paxson said he would not pursue the proposal, which Rose said he made about a week ago. "Unless there's a deal out there I want to make, I'm not making it," said Paxson, clearly angered by Rose's announcement. "I'm not going to give Eddy Curry away." Worse for Curry, a three-year offer from the Bulls appears to be off the table, leaving him with only the one-year qualifying offer of $5.14 million. "They've already rejected it," Paxson said of the short-term contract offer. At this point, any other contract offer is "not going to happen," Paxson said. "There are too many questions." Those questions always come back to Curry's risky heart condition, which was diagnosed last spring. Unless a sign-and-trade can be put together, or another team gives him an offer sheet by Oct. 1, Curry will have no choice but to accept the qualifying offer. A source close to Curry said Paxson will not negotiate with an Eastern Conference team but has sent out feelers to Memphis and Denver, both from the Western Conference. Paxson said he has not spoken to representatives from either team.</div> <div align="center">Source</div>
I think he will go to New York. They need a good Center now that they lost Kurt Thomas. Hopefully Curry's heart won't be an issue and he can continue having a good career.

I don?t know what the Knicks are thinking going after Curry they drafted Frye (center of the future), signed James (big money), and have several other front court players who are capable of playing center. I would love to see a Nene for Curry deal go down with Denver. I just think New York is in this rumor, because it?s New York, and they have to be involved with everything.
I see no reason for the Knicks to go after him now unless they're giving up Frye in the deal. The Knicks already have a load of big men and they drafted Channing Frye along with signing Jerome James this summer. Isaiah makes no sense to me, first getting Q when they already have Tim Thomas, Ariza, and Jamal Crawford playing 2/3 and now possibly moving Stephon to SG. The Denver stuff dont make sense to me either, Nene, Camby and K-Mart are there already and I doubt Curry could find time over either of them because in my eyes all three of them are better than Curry. Memphis is the only one making sense here. They have Lorenzon Wright who's aging and Gasol plays the 4. Eddy Curry would be a good fit there but what would the Bulls get in return?
Nene or Lo Wright make the most sense if the Bulls are going to get involved in a sign and trade. Both players are in the final deal of their contracts, so the Bulls probably want to get some assurances they will be able to extend or re-sign the player they acquire. I think Lo Wright is an easier target, but I'm sure Nene would be the 1st option. Nene has not signed the extension offer from Denver because he wants to be a starter, but the Nuggets already have KMart and Camby holding down the PF and C starting positions. The Nuggets might consider trading him now instead of getting into the situation the Bulls are in with Curry. Lo Wright was upset he wasn't offered an extension from the Grizzlies, and he will likely walk after this year. If the Grizzlies can land Curry for him, I think Jerry West would make this trade. Curry and Gasol would compliment each other, and Gasol wouldn't be forced to play Center this season. Very tough decision upcoming for Paxson. I don't think he can just allow Curry to walk after this season as an unrestricted free agent.
Wouldn't mind Gasol or Nene. Wright's pretty good too. But I'll pass on anything from the Knicks, I 1) don't want to trade him in the conference and 2) don't have much interest in anyone on the Knicks that I'd consider a good replacement. Sure there are a few players that would be a good fit, but we should try to either improve our toughness in the paint or try to replace his scoring. I for one would try to go halfway on both sides, try to get tougher and get some scoring along with it. Curry isn't really a defensive dynamo, so basically anyone I previously mentioned is better than Curry in that area. Curry however showed great defensive potential before he went down. I'd rather just resign Curry longterm than any of these situations, but I dunno, if he's gonna be a bitch trade him. He often dissapeared in games, so I don't know what to expect from him. He has so many question marks around him I honestly have to say I doubt he will be in a Bulls uniform for any or all of next year.

They get Q who can play 2/3 and a player capable of replacing Tim Thomas - a bum. Ariza is nice, but Q adds more depth at the swingman position and Crawford can't play the 3; only 1-2. The thing about most of the Knicks players are their versatility which won't make as big a problem.
