    Memphis - 97
    New Orleans - 92

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">MEMPHIS, Tenn., Feb. 28 (Ticker) -- James Posey must be sorry to see February end.

Posey capped the best month of his career with 24 points as the Memphis Grizzlies held on for a 97-92 victory over the New Orleans Hornets.

Posey is averaging just under 13 points per game this season but became the Grizzlies' go-to guy in February. He averaged 18.3 points on 54 percent (72-of-133) shooting during the month, which he capped with five straight 20-point performances.

After winning a franchise-record 10 games in January, the Grizzlies matched the mark in February, going 10-3.

Memphis took a 15-point lead into the fourth quarter, but New Orleans -- which combined for 29 points in the second and third periods -- exploded for 34. </div>

    RecaplBoxscore

The Hornets never really recovered from the big third quarter defecit, but the one thing that shocked me was how whenever they had a chance at making a comeback, Baron Davis took the shot. I believe he finished shooting 2-9 from the three point line while Steve Smith finished shooting 3-3 (2-2 from 3). Even though I am a Grizzlies fan, in my head I kept saying, "Pass Smith the ball!". Yet, Baron would pass it around then somehow get it back and chunk up a wild three. The game wasn't won just because of Davis though. Shane Battier came up with a huge charge as usual, and James Posey continued his All-Star play. This now makes the Grizzlies 6th in the West again.
