Im a fan of the Tigers and I cant really figure out whos our "star". I would probably pick Andre Allen or Joey Dorsey. Obvisouly next year it will be Derrick Rose more than likely, but alotve people dont think we arent worthy of 11th in the nation, but I think we are. We may not have a lotto pick player(yet), but we are extremely deep, may be the deepest team in the nation. What are yalls thoughts?
I disagree with you when you say Memphis is the deepest team in the nation. I think that has to go to Florida. But I do think Memphis will make some noise this year. They are a deep team, they play good defense, and they can pound the glass. As for your "star," I think as of right now it's Joey Dorsey. He's arguably the best rebounder in the country, he has a soft touch around the basket, he is a smart defensive player, he's tough, and he's more of a leader than Allen at this point. Allen needs a little more time to prove himself, IMO. He's started off nicely, but he has not done much yet. He's just coming into his own.
Yeah, I think by the end of Dorseys college career, he will be a 1st rnd pick. Hes almost lke a poormans Sheldon Williams in many ways.

They have their starting five, Green, Humphreys, Brewer, Horford and Noah, then past them they have Walter Hodge off the bench, which is pretty much the only guard that will get much time. Then they have Chris Richard who is their big man off the bench. That is the one's that are going to be playing the most right now. I suspect, that freshmon Marreese Speights will get alot more playing time as the season goes on, and be a key man off the bench. For right now though, they are only seven players deep.

But off the bench: Hodge, Richard, Werner, and even John Mitchell. Mitchell may be a freshman but he has earned playing time and he's going to be a solid college player. Also, like you said, Speights is going to be a player as well. He has a nice complete game, he just needs some seasoning. Florida is a very deep team, IMO.
Mitchell barely gets much playing time right now, only about 11 minutes a game which isn't much, and I don't see him getting a whole lot more. He is playing well for a freshmon, but Donovan likes to stick with a solid 7 or 8 man rotation and that's about as much as he usually subs in during a season. If there isn't any injuries, then not many people are going to get alot of playing time past the main 7 or 8. As for Werner, right now he is getting playing time, but I don't see that keeping up for to much longer.I really do think that Memphis has the depth advantage on Florida though. They have a good group of players that come in and provide quality play, Douglas-Roberts, Dozier, Hunt, Kemp, Allen, Dorsey, Anderson, Mack and Niles all get good playing time. I really think they can be known as the deepest team in the nation.

I mean the Bulls are very deep in the NBA. Just because Adrian Griffin doesn't play 20 mpg doesn't mean he isn't there for depth. He can play. Same thing with Mitchell. Just because better players at his position are ahead of him doesn't mean he doesn't count as bench depth just because he only plays 11 mpg. MPG doesn't tell the full story when talking about depth, the talent level does.
Memphis lost to Georgia Tech tonight, with G-Tech having a massive 62 point explosion in the second half.
Yeah we had alotve Memphis love there with Young on GAT and all the Memphians playing for the Tigers. We will probably be ranked 16-18th now. We dont have that guy who can really take over yet. CDR/Allen can become those players, but both are still young and may not be at the level yet. CDR did have a good game.

I liked what I saw from CDR, Hunt..Dozier got 5 fouls in his short period of time.Tech looked pretty good in the 2nd half, but again you could tell they were young by both teams run and gun style play. Jeremis Smith and Ra'Sean Dickey both played very well, and Thaddeus Young and Javaris both showed flashes of greatness..
Memphis has been playing together for a while, only players get significant minutes who are new is Niles and Kemp.

Well, I dont really care much about this season, cause we're good, but we're not THAT good. Im just going to sit tight for Derrick Rose and those twins we're getting.
Do yall think memphis is a powerhouse?I think so...only problem in the past was our recruits were so good...they went straight to NBA, now they cant. So I think within the next years....memphis will be a name mentioned with Duke, North Carolina and UCLA.
I actually like U of A, Marcus Williams is going to be a stud. I didnt expect us to beat them 2nite, around 20(in rankings) is about where we should be this year.
We murdered Cincinnati, I cant wait till Top Prospect Derrick Rose to get here, we are going to be incredible....that is if CDR stays and Willie Kemp improves more.
