I'm not going to post the link, just go to any major news outlet's website (SI, ESPN, Yahoo sports, Fox Sports) and you'll see the link.

Very risky move, but you can't hate on his heart here. He is one of the most feared pash rusher's in the league, so his presence alone will help us on the field. I just hope teams don't pull a Jeff Fisher and put a hit out on his knee.

    WAR MERRIMAN!

It seems like a horrible move on his part, but an admirable idea at least.

I'm not going to criticize this move, yet. He knows his body better than any Dr. could tell him and definitely better than any fan.

He is still young. I don't think he'd risk his career for just one season. I think he'll give it a go in Week 1, hoping nothing bad happens. From there, he'll evaluate how he feels. I think this could be a week to week basis kind of thing.

Either way, I honestly don't expect Merriman to be a Charger past the 2009 season. We just extended Jyles Tucker for 5 years I believe it was and there has been a lot of talk down here in San Diego that AJ Smith is unhappy with Merriman's lifestyle and media plugs outside of being on the field.

Seems incredibly risky and stupid IMO.

Admittedly, you have to like his willingness to go out there for his team. But this seems like a sure fire way to end a career. That would be tragic.

Especially as young as he is. If the guy were at the twighlight of his career, I could see taking this risk. At least then, you know that you would have played a full career and have less regret. He rushes the passer on the outside. I can easily picture a fullback cutting him low, like they sometimes do, and hitting him just the wrong way on that knee.

Then again, if he pulls this off without any further damage, he looks like a hero.

Even if he pulls it off, you have to expect that this will definitely hurt his next contract. At least if he gets the right surgery, he might come out better in the end. Why do something that seems so unprecedented? I guess he really cares about winning.

Wasn't he complaining about the Titans cheap shotting him in the knee last season? Well, he can expect a lot more of that next year...
