I'm on a winning streak....the in-laws were gone thanksgiving, and they're gone right now too. True happy holidays
Although Jewish people are supposed to get Chinese takeout, the takeout near me is crappy, so I'm making my own Chinese dinner. Vegetable dumpling soup, braised chicken, stir fry beef and snow peas, rice. Lucia sometimes visits the people in the house next door. Last year they had a Christmas buffet. She showed up at their door, and they called across that they had turkey and ham, was it OK with me if they let her in? Ham is too salty for cats but turkey is fine, so they let her in. They said later they put a little plate of turkey on the floor for her. She ate her turkey and visited with everyone before politely saying goodbye and strolling home, having thoroughly enjoyed herself. I thought, they don't invite me to their damn Christmas buffet, but they invite my cat?
I'm uncomfortable saying this but I thought today was like Day 3 of the Hannukah, I always thought that most Jewish people ate quite a bit of fried foods during Hannukah, like latkeys(spelling?), and fried doughnuts. I'm terribly, terribly sorry if that sounds racist at all. Will totally delete that if it crosses any lines. Anyways your meal sounds really good! My wife made steaks, with cabernet sauce, broccoli and carrots.
