Took my car in for servicing and while waiting saw a guy with a Rays hat on asked him what he thought about the Price trade. Guy gave me a dirty look and said "What the hell did you think we thought" I replied that I did not know I'm not a Rays Fan and further commented that while Smyly and Franklin were nice players I that the Rays got much less than what they may have figured. He then went into a silent mode and I made no further attempt at conversation. When they let him know his car was finished he didn't just go away he went away mad.
Considering what the Red Sox got for Lester I really thought the Rays would have gotten more for Price, so if I'm a Rays fan I'd be pretty upset also.
^^^who's going to be the Sox starting rotation next year?...will one year of Cespedes make up for no pitching?
My thoughts also, They gave up 2 starters for a player that as good as he is, can't pitch, so basically they're screwed.
One could say that's the "Price" ya' gotta pay to gamble, trade, or give away players...Poor Rays Fans....!!! My sympathy....NOT...! I think the Rays got screwed, and Beane is going for broke, BUT has to win it all, cuz I doubt Lester will re-sign for the big FA bucks, Beane cannot pay. Rent/Lease for 3 months, then show nada for it, Cespedes was integral for a post season romp......
