Mets getting healthy at right time as they host Phils

With David Wright and Ike Davis still on the disabled list, the Mets won't have their projected Opening Day roster on the field for quite some time. The good news, however, is they get one step closer Friday.

On Friday, Mets outfielder Angel Pagan returned from the DL for the first of a three-game series against the Phillies.

Pagan, a pleasant surprise last season with a .290 batting average and 37 stolen bases, played in only 19 games this season before landing on the DL on April 22 with a strained left oblique. The 29-year-old outfielder almost made a comeback earlier this month but suffered a setback and lost a couple more weeks. Pagan -- who was hitting .159 prior to the injury -- is starting at center field position upon his return, but as expected, Mets manager Terry Collins is easing Pagan back into the lineup by batting him in the lower half of the order at first, rather than his regular second spot.
