The Mets’ 9-1 homestand equaled the best homestand in franchise history — set twice before (Aug. 16-24, 1969 and Sept. 12-22, 1988) and ended with a seven-game winning streak — their longest since last May. But inside the streak are some numbers that are equally impressive. The Mets’ pitchers — including Oliver Perez to bring down the curve — compiled a 2.09 ERA with 89 strikeouts in 86 innings. They outscored the opposition, 48-23, and the bats contributed 27 extra-base hits — including five home runs. http://www.northjersey.com/sports/p..._notes__Mets_have_record-tying_homestand.html
