Matt Harvey has been suspended for three days without pay for violating club rules, Sandy Alderson announced Sunday. Though Alderson wouldn’t say what the starting pitcher was disciplined for, team sources said the suspension stems from a compilation of issues dating back to last year. The suspension is not related to the sex toy spotted in Kevin Plawecki’s locker on Friday night, a source said.

Mets owner Fred Wilpon and COO Jeff Wilpon were spotted on the field having a heated conversation before Saturday’s game, according to an industry source. The two were believed to be discussing decisions related to the matter.

Starting in Harvey's place is 29-year-old lefty journeyman Adam Wilk, who has 26.1 innings of Major League experience. Noah Syndergaard was placed on the 60-day disabled list to make room for Wilk on the 40-man roster.
