Meyers has the best shot percentage of the Centers for both FG and FG3 and has a PER near 20. These facts make me believe that he should be playing the minutes to allow 10 shots with which he could contribute 15+ points. In the 4th quarter against the TWolves, for example, Meyers might have been the answer to the Blazers having at least 24 points and the win. With the improvements he has made this year and these facts, it is time to be counting on Meyers.
Meyers has improved. But to count on him would be silly. Granted, in a few games he's made somewhat of an impact... but not enough to count on him.
I'm going to ignore the 'stats'. At the end of the day Nards shouldn't be receiving DNPCD. I'm one of the biggest proponents of Nards not being in a Blazer uniform. However he's shown he deserves minutes this year. Frankly Portland's Centers should all be playing. The only way to do that though if the Center playing doesn't take plays off, and is dog ass tired on the court from running the floor.
The good news is there's probably another GM out there that will convince himself that Meyers just needs a change of scenery, based on those stats. And maybe he does. I want to find out
Blazer fans have the role of encouraging players. That requires recognizing who is making the highest % of shots and earning a high PER. I see Meyers doing more than Zach or Noah and would promote using him to win games. Zach should not be attempting 3PT that should have been shots by Meyers. The Blazers need to feed the guy who is making the highest % of attempts and use him strategically, especially in the 2nd and 4th quarters. I am ready to see the Blazers beat the Spurs! This can be a turning point.
If by more you mean just pure shooting - that's because that's how it's supposed to be. It's really basic.
