One year ago, the governing bodies of the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association voted to retain the conference membership at 12 schools, the current number with the addition of Lincoln becoming official last week. Circumstances involving other conference affiliations may alter that decision, with two to four schools under consideration to join the MIAA. Central Oklahoma, Northeastern (Okla.) State, Nebraska-Kearney and Lindenwood, Mo., have expressed interest in applying for membership. "It's a different landscape than it was a year ago," MIAA commissioner Jim Johnson said Tuesday. "After that vote was taken (July 2009) to stay at 12, there were some schools in our Midwest competition region that expressed some interest that had not expressed interest previous to that. http://cjonline.com/sports/basketball/2010-07-06/miaa_exploring_expansion
