<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">AUBURN HILLS, Michigan (Ticker) -- The Miami Heat try to reach .500 for the first time this season when they visit the Detroit Pistons on Friday at The Palace.

The Heat (37-38), who began the season 0-7 and were 25-36 as recently as March 2, have won nine of their last 10 games to move into a three-way tie for fourth place in the Eastern Conference standings with New Orleans and Milwaukee.

On Wednesday, Miami edged Atlanta on the road, 100-97, after rallying from an eight-point deficit in the final 3 1/2 minutes and then surviving a missed a 3-pointer at the buzzer by the Hawks' Jason Terry and Chris Crawford.
Eddie Jones scored 23 points and Lamar Odom added 21 for Miami, which took its first lead of the fourth quarter on a runner by rookie Dwyane Wade with 39 seconds left.

The Pistons have won back-to-back games and 10 of 12, including a 108-99 triumph over the Los Angeles Clippers on Wednesday.

Richard Hamilton scored 28 points and Chauncey Billups added 12 of his 21 in the fourth quarter for Detroit, which played its second consecutive contest without Rasheed Wallace, who is nursing a back injury.

The Pistons have won the first three meetings between the teams and are trying to sweep the Heat for the first time since going 2-0 in the 1988-89 campaign, Miami's inaugural season.</div>should be a good one (after that lackidasical effort against the Clippers). this is a possible first round matchup, so look for both teams to try and make a statement. Sheed will be playing after taking a few games off for his sore back. (not sure if there was going to be a preview, so i thought i'd put it up [IMG])

Oops, I forgot that I do the previews. The two week break felt weird, almost like something was missing, just realized what it was. :P

I'm got Pistons by 5, should be a good game though. Heat are playing some great basketball right now and should prove to be a difficult opponent.

The Heat, who were swept by the Pistons for the first time since their inaugural 1988-89 season, shot 48 percent (19-of-40) in the first half and took a 45-37 lead into the break.

Billups scored 31 points -- 20 in the second half -- and chipped in seven rebounds and seven assists. He made up for a subpar effort from backcourt mate Richard Hamilton, who had only three points as he battled foul trouble.
