Heerenveen midfielder Michael Bradley has announced he wants to leave the Eredivisie, claiming it does not suit his style of play.

The 20-year-old has been one of the discoveries of the season, scoring 14 goals, but has now set his sights on a move.

The American is under contract in Friesland until the summer of 2009, but Heerenveen may be forced to sell the wantaway star sooner.

He told the Ajax Life magazine: "I strive to reach the highest level. It's time to make the next step.</div>

Bradley is the USA's top talent in my honest opinion. He's shown that by scoring 14 goals this season from a central or defensive midfield position and has done fairly well for the national team as well. I'm going to assume when he states that he wants out, this means he wants a move to England. He'll likely go to a club with the talent of Blackburn, Everton or Manchester City. I personally believe that a club like Arsenal should be looking at the youngster already instead of two years down the road and paying even more for him in the end.

Yeah he should go to one of the lower teams in the EPL, where he can be a major player and get major minutes and at the same time get the experience of playing with top players around the world on the same pitch.

It took me a while to catch on to this.

Anything new on the Michael Bradley front? I haven't been hearing anything, but that's expected as he plays soccer and I'm in the US.

The last thing I heard was the Adu and Bradley to Monaco rumor, but I haven't heard anything about either since and that was a few weeks ago.

That would be a nice move for both players. The French league is exciting to watch.

Adu is still with Benfica. He was playing regularly as a late sub in September and October, but several coaching changes later, he wasn't even dressing. Adu needs to move. It looked like he was being groomed to take Rui Costa's number 10 role, but that's out as Benfica brought in Pablo Aimar and Carlos Martins. Wikipedia has the loan to Monaco being official, but I can't find anything on Monaco's site (and I don't speak French and they don't translate it). Yanks Abroad doesn't have anything on it either.

Also, no word on Bradley on wikipedia or YA.

EDIT/UPDATE: Setanta reports Adu loaned to Monaco. S2 thread on the topic here.

Bradley is going to Middlesbrough before the summer window shuts to join former teammate Afonso Alves.
