Michael Brecker may be an obscure individual (compared to the people often talked about here, he's not obscure in the jazz world), but real jazz fans knew him to be the best jazz musician since Coltrane and Miles checked out (with exceptions maybe being nguyen le and wayne shorter). He died of some sort of bone marrow disease. I, like almost every other jazz fan, got tested to see if I could donate bone marrow to him, but no match. It is a sad day in the jazz world.
