New York appears to have legitimate interest as Isiah Thomas and Larry Brown begin remaking the Knicks. It's possible they would explore swapping Anfernee Hardaway or Tim Thomas for Finley.
Hardaway ($15.75 million) and Thomas ($13.975 million) have contracts that expire this season and both would match Finley's salary this season ($15.938 million) in trade scenarios.</div>

I would use a Tim Thomas contract for Michael Finley and a first rounder. It might seem silly for us to keep on adding cap, but I think this can work well for us. While washed up an aging, Finley will provide us with a legitimate offensive player who is pretty good in the clutch. He?s also a very good shooter and can provide us with kind of an Allan Houston presence that we?ve lacked. I?m sure how he is defensively, but I heard he was ok. Not too good and not too bad. With Finley, we?ll have another weapon, but I don?t know he?ll be playing under Brown. What does everyone else think of this move?

He's talented, but the last thing this roster need is more general talent. Finley's role wouldnt be all that useful since he's weak defensively. This team needs people that are solid on both sides of the ball. Marbury, Crawford, Nate, Richardson, Finley...that's to many bad defensive players for a LB team.

I think the Knicks are well fit on the offense side right now, but should concentrate on some more defensive players. Finley does have decent D in him, but I don`t see him fitting with the team right now.

Finley's knees are shot, he wouldn't keep up with any young SGs. He is merely an excellent offensive piece, which NY has enough of.

I agree, Finley doesn't seem to be a good fit for the Knicks. He's great offensively but lacks on the defensive end. We are loaded offensively. We now should turn our focus towards getting defensive-minded players and a quality back-up pg.

The Knicks would be much better off here trying to move Tim Thomas' contract for a nice defensive piece to complete their puzzle. Finley is an offensive weapon, not that the Knicks already have Q-Rich, Crawford, Marbury, Houston, and Nate who all can put twenty points up on a good day.
