The Cavaliers probably are one major piece away from not only challenging for the Eastern Conference title but also for an NBA championship.

The Cavs have an inside presence with Zydrunas Ilgauskas, and he is one of the best centers in the East. They have a so lid point guard in Jeff McInnis, and Drew Gooden has supplied post scoring and rebounding. Of course, the Cavs have their do-everything superstar in LeBron James.

Besides more money, it may not take much to convince Redd to sign with the Cavs this summer. Redd is proud of his home state.

"Being from Columbus, that's why I went to Ohio State because it was close to home," Redd said. "The pros are different because it's about my livelihood. Life throws you curveballs and throws you into different situations. [In terms of where I'll play next year,] we'll see what happens. I love Columbus, and I have family in Cleveland."

That could be good news for Cavs fans, and there also is another major reason why free agents would consider playing in Cleveland. It is the same reason why Ray Allen, also a free agent at the end of the season, would consider playing for the Cavs.

"Having LeBron has changed free agents' opinions on Cleveland," Stewart said. "People want to go to Cleveland now. A few years ago, no one wanted to come to Cleveland, and now anyone would. Guys want to play with the most unselfish player in the NBA. There's not a lot of superstars like that."</div>

If Cleveland can get Redd at shooting guard during the offseason then they could be a definite contender for the NBA Championship.
