Great stuff Rick, Incredible statistic too, The Mick was truly as great as anyone to play the game, then some, ..... My head is still spinning in Mick's greatness, decades latter. What an Honor wasn't it, to watch the likes of those early latter 50s to early-mid 60's Yanx, Utterly loved watching Gibson and those great 60s Cardinal's, ntm-who wasn't a SF Giants Fan in that era, of epic Great-ness, its aura still felt........Thanx Rick...!!!
Number 7 will always be number 1 with me as an all time Yankee Position player whom I got to see play. Everytime that man stepped up to the plate the game intensified. No one could bop for distance like the Mick.
He was truly one of those great players where you would rather HOLD IT IN than to get up from the set & miss his AB. Those players just don't exist anymore.
Amen...... Rick, if you held it in, (and I know what you mean, we were much the same) what would you do after holding it in, when the Mick hit a HR...eh????? LOL....great visceral of your Youth.... I believe you posted this Documentary last Winter....?
I wouldn't leave the TV set until his AB was done...........parents were upset more times than I care to admit. LOL
