In fact, the buzz around the league is O'Neal could be had as well, despite his gaudy 19.4 points, 10.4 rebounds and 3.0 blocks a game. But the fact of the matter is his numbers have been dropping, injuries increasing and that may be the most underrated reason why the Pacers have been reeling. He's averaging more than $20 million in salary over this season and the next three ? and that's an awful lot for a .500 team to swallow.</div><div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Most underrated player: Marcus Camby, DenverPreseason pick: Gerald Wallace, Charlotte Marcus Camby is finally living up to that UMass hype from so long ago. (Garrett Ellwood / NBA / Getty Images) While everyone is going gaga over the acquisition of Allen Iverson and the return of Carmelo Anthony making this team so offensively explosive, they are only capable of special things when Camby is healthy and playing well. As noted in the aforementioned comparison to Okafor, he's averaging 12.1 points, 12.3 rebounds a 3.0 blocks. As the league changed to quicker, more athletic players, Camby accepted playing center instead of demanding to play forward and his skills became far more obvious. Just consider 12 points, 22 rebounds and 5 blocks in a win over Houston, or 19 points, 15 rebounds and 7 blocks while trouncing Milwaukee. Caron Butler was Camby's only serious competition for the award, averaging 20.8 points, 8.1 rebounds and 3.1 assists under the vast shadow of Arenas.</div><div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>All-NBA worst startersF-Matt Carroll, CharlotteF-Mikki Moore, New JerseyC-Brian Skinner, MilwaukeeG-DeShawn Stevenson, WashingtonG-Eric Snow, Cleveland</div> I pretty interesting read and some unique opinions.
Re: Mid-Season Awards! DeShawn Stevenson is not as bad of a starter as Gordon Giricek.I know D'Antoni deserves some credit, but you have to give the award to Sloan. D'Antoni got a healthy Amare back, and has a ton of talent led by Nash. Sloan is starting a young PG with a former unproven big man bust, a former soft white man, and an injury prone, rail thin Russian. He needs the award.Give me Boykins for worst on D.
Re: Mid-Season Awards! Haha, Eric Snow made the NBA Worst starters...lmfaoGladly Mike Brown started Gibson.

Re: Mid-Season Awards! Giricek only started like 4 games, so he really isn't a starter. also, for the Jazz, he's one of the better bad players they have started, in the past they've started the likes of Aleksander Radojavic, Williams Cunningham, Jeff Cook, Ben Handlogten, Randy Livingston, Ruben Nembhart and a slew of other really bad players.also, Matt Carrol isn't that bad of a player. He is a sh*tty defender most nights but can be lights out from beyond the arc.
Re: Mid-Season Awards! Well I agree with you on two of your items but totally disagree on the most overrated player being Jermaine O'Neal. This guy is having a great year and you can't blame his team's record solely on him. I mean he really doesn't have much talent around him.(Dunleavy,Granger,Tinsley,Murphy) If I had to pick the most overrated player in the league I would have to go with Richard Jefferson. Everyone knows he could be a scorer capable of putting up 20 plus points a night but he is really inconsistent with his game and injuries are starting to slow him down too. RJ was always supposed to better than he is but he has never lived up to the hype.

Ugly as crap, but he's reppin West Michigan, so I'm a big fan.
Re: Mid-Season Awards! <span style="font-family:Comic Sans MS">I don't think DeShawn Stevenson nor Mikki Moore are horrible starters. I mean, their current numbers would be remarkable for an off-the-bench player, but they're not all that bad anyway.</span>
Re: Mid-Season Awards! Mikki Moore on worst starters list? He is better than jason Collins and whoever takes RJ's spot on a nightly basis (Nachbar, Wright, etc..). He has actually been pretty damn good for the nets.
Re: Mid-Season Awards! Camby most underrated is one I completely agree with. Without him the Nuggets would have a way worse record and give up 130 points game game. He is the backbone of the team and having one his best, if not best, season in his career. He needs more respect and should have been an all star.

Re: Mid-Season Awards! I agree with the Jermaine O' Neal opinion full-heartedly. The guy is a good player long past days of possible glory. He's very good a ton a ton of things, but as Charley Rosen said, he's not great at anything. These days, to be an elite 4 man you need to be great at things, ala Tim Duncan's basketball IQ or Kevin Garnett's versatility.
Re: Mid-Season Awards! WTF? WTF? WTF? WTF?WTF?Jermaine O'neal carries us. Do you relize how bad we would be if we didn;t have JO? We'd have like a .100 record. It would be ridiculous. And who cares if his numbers are decreasing? They obviously aren't going to stay the same every year. Besides he increased his blocks per game by almost .8 per game. JO has the best post moves back to the basket in the NBA and is underrated by everyone here.
Re: Mid-Season Awards! <span style="font-family:Comic Sans MS">I guess I must completely agree with PFF here. Jermaine O' Neal isn't all that overrated. In fact, at times, JO is underrated. People don't respect the duke for carrying a franchise, which would be worse without him. I mean, JO isn't making the team better, but if you've heard the phrase "there's no way this situation could get any worse," you must not have realized how bad the Pacers will be without JO in their roster.</span>
Re: Mid-Season Awards! Huh? DeShawn Stevenson isn't a bad starter, at all.. just because he doesn't average more than 15 ppg a game and starts doesn't mean he's on the "Worst NBA Starter" team. Clearly, this guy doesn't look beyond stats.
