Whoa!!! What the hell is that? ANy offer? I can't imagine that came out right, unless Mihm is a piece in a big trade that's still off the radar?

Are you questioning what Ainge is saying? He is God!!!!

Mihm is a nice player and will develop into a guy that will give you rebounds every night, and is a 7-Footer. You never know

Come on....No one said the man was god. Give it a rest.

Mihm might develop into something. However, he might not. When he got PT last year, he fouled so much that he was completely ineffective most nights. Granted, he had to play the PF spot alot, but that's not likely to change much, IMO.

From a fiscal standpoint, automatically matching him would be a nightmare. However, that could be a media ploy to tell teams to not bother or to try and acquire him via trade, which could help relieve our issue with too many players right now.

I understand what you mean, but in our cap situation, there's no such thing as cheap money. [IMG]

Last I heard, he's in negotiations with the Bucks.

I'm not very high on this guy. He has not shown much improvement after a good rookie season and might be a bit overpriced at the full MLE. If he does get offered a MLE, I'd rather see Ainge use the money to go after Thomas or another veteran big man.

Thomas signed a offersheet with the Bucks (or will) so Ainge can't get him. Why do they need another big? Sure you cant have enough, but you dont need to waste your MLE on one. You got Blount, Lafrentz, Jefferson, Perkins....maybe he could add a vet like Massenburg, but he's not into oldies.

I honestly dont think Mihm can help this team at all. And yes, he fouled WAY too much...He gets into foul trouble before he even touches the ball once.

I'm not set on Mihm either, but he's got promise, if he can get his head on straight.

Also, I believe the list of Teams rumored to have interest is now the following:

    Lakers, Atlanta, Orlando, Memphis

How strong is the interest from some of them? Not sure, but all have been rumored to have contacted Ainge about possible S&T's for Mihm.

I'm loving the hawks desperation to rebuild during this summer.

When i saw him play on television in cleveland he looked very comfortable and confident with his game.

I havent gotten to see hows hes adjusted with the celtics but i have agut feeling hes not performed as he did with the cavs.

Maybe we can make some sort of sign and trade with Atlanta. I don't know who they really have to offer though, possibly Sura. With Al and Perkins, Mihm isn't reqally needed as long as Raef stays moderately healthy.

Mihm has got to be going somewhere. I just wonder how much we can get in return for him. On one hand, he's a real talent with center size. On the other hand, he's never had a consistent run where he actually capitalized on that talent. When I saw him last year, he was dazed and confused. Was that part of learning a new system? Or was it just him underachieving?

These are questions GMs will ask themselves. I don't know if his trade value is going to be all that high. I guess we'll see.

I have to agree with that, but there are some other things in there I think should be considered:

Mihm's used to being the "last line of defense" where he normally plays, which is supposed to be Center. Not only did he play alot of time at PF last year, where he couldn't stay with a faster player, but our defense almost always was porous and he's not the type to give up freebies. When the man driving got to him, he fouled most of the time in order to not give up an easy bucket. Needs to learn which ones to just let go.

He had his share of stupid stuff that would lead me to believe on some nights, he was indeed "dazed and confused" as ranter put it. I remember one night he got 3 fouls in a couple trips down the floor. I don't think 2 mins had run off the clock!

Mihm needs structure in order to achieve. He had little in Cleveland and almost none last season, particularly the second half of the season. (Damn, John Carroll left a bad taste with me. What a loser. I can't believe he just sat there and rode out the season without putting any legitimate effort into coaching this team. No matter how bad he thought the sitaution was, there's no excuse for at least not trying to make something happen [IMG] )

I think he could play a lot better, but needs to be put in a stable environment, with clear directions as to how he should be playing, his responsibilities, etc. He just doesn't strike me as the type who has a strong ability to fluidly and quickly evaluate the floor when he's out there.
