Comrie, who was with the Pittsburgh Penguins on a one-year contract in 2010-11 and missed much of the season with a hip injury, said he began his initial rehab from surgery too early, according to a statement issued Monday. It was the second such surgery of his career. "In wanting to return to play after surgery, I pushed myself too early and that has not helped my recovery," he said. "I will return to the NHL when I am healthy and able to play at the level I have come to expect of myself."
