Well, there have been some rumours, that Mike James would be a Rocket next year,(see below)and i was wondering what you guys thought? Keep him, or is Hunter a better back-up?

    Rumours:

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Pistons PG Mike James does not expect to return to Detroit, but the experience he gained in winning a championship with the Pistons should help. He's been sought by three teams with championship aspirations ? the Heat, the Lakers and (his preferred destination) the Rockets . Miami feels that James is a replica of PG Rafer Alston, the player the Heat lost to Toronto thanks to a six-year, $30 million contract. Neither James nor Alston are pure point guards, and are at their best when they simply set the offense, avoid mistakes and look to get open for 3-point shots. But James would prefer a starting spot, and the Heat will go with G Dwyane Wade as the starting point man again. </div>

I thought, he was a great asset to the team, but in reading some Piston Fans' Quotes, they arent too high on bringing him back.. What about you all?

I personally wanted Mike to return, I loved what he gave the team on both ends of the floor. He is such a good defender and isn't given enough credit for the job he does guarding the top point guards in the game. He has good range and very quick at attacking the basket.

Main problem is, James wanted a long term deal and a starting spot. He wasn't going to get that in Detroit. Dumars has basically decided to keep Hunter as the back-up but I would rather have James due to his age and the fact he is more of a consistant jump shooter than Hunter is.

He would be a prefect fit for the Rockets, wouldn't need to do too much to be effective. Hw knows his role and in Houston all he would have to do would be pass the ball inside, play tough defence and knock down the open shot.

Hes got some game and hes kind of lost in detroit, isnt playing the role he should be. I think heat would have most profit if they got him. two great guards would be playing there then.

sad to see Mike James go. he seemed to be our quickest guard from baseline to baseline.

but as AllNet said above, he wouldn't get the minutes or the money here in Detroit. much like Memo, he'll get minutes/money elsewhere.

James was always seemed to be a positive guy in the locker room. hope he does well where ever he goes.
