With his family now by his side, former University of Alabama basketball star Mikhail Torrance remained in the Intensive Care Unit at Sarasota Memorial Hospital, a day after collapsing on the court at IMG Academy in Bradenton. A hospital spokesperson told FanHouse Saturday afternoon that Torrance is listed by doctors as being in "critical but stable'' condition, but she would release no other information at the family's request. Agent Happy Walters wrote on Twitter Saturday that Torrance "is stable and in an induced coma. His heart is fine. The [d]octors are going to bring him out of his coma tonight in order to evaluate brain function. Staff attended to him within 2 minutes and administered CPR. He had a heartbeat and was breathing on own.'' Torrance has been at Sarasota Memorial since Friday afternoon when he was transferred there from a nearby hospital in Bradenton he had originally been taken to earlier in the day. Through the hospital spokesperson, the family has asked for privacy, offering no other comments on his situation.
