Oct 10 - As part of his offseason training, Paul Millsap took up boxing with his brother John, who played for the Jazz's summer league team. They sparred only once, for about four rounds, but Millsap said just going through drills was an incredible endurance builder.

The idea of Millsap, who ranked 13th in the NBA in rebounds per minute last season as a rookie, learning how to throw jabs and hooks could send a shudder through big men around the league. How good a fighter was the box-out artist?

"[The trainer] said the rate we was going, we was pretty good," Millsap said. "It's kind of dangerous to see us go in there and just pick up what we picked up in the short amount of time that we did. I'd say it's kind of natural, but I still have a lot of work to do." -- Salt Lake Tribune
