"Falcons coach Mike Smith, who's in his third year and is the first coach in team history to post back-to-back winning season, doesn't want the veterans to have a sense of entitlement.

Expect the tempo to be fast and furious when the mini-camp opens today.

"I told the guys when we started the offseason conditioning program, we are familiar with one another and this is year three," Smith said. "The thing I want to guard against is complacency because we know one another. They know the routine that we do in terms of the offseason and in terms of weightlifting and on the field work. So we are going change some things up and our offseason evaluations and how we do things. It's not going to be status quo in terms been doing in the first two years."

He said the changes will be subtle and really just points of emphasis in different areas of the game."
