    For one game at least...

    Minnesota: 266 YPG
    Chicago: 277 YPG

Ok, so we might not have the edge in the points category....yet. [IMG]

Vikings defense looked good, but the Washington offense looked horrible. People are really relishing the Favre bashing this year, but Brunell didn't look any better.

I think that's the only time I've heard anyone defend Favre using Brunell.

I'm not defending Favre. I'm just wondering why he takes so much heat when guys like Brunell, who is also past his prime, isn't taking any.

Seriously. Brunell looked awful last night. Other than maybe on the last drive.

Mostly cuz, brunell most of his career on jacksonville, and never got hyped up by media. Now, media has to tear farve back down. Its ok though, they gave him a free pass on cheating.

Brunell was a strong candidate for comeback player of the year IMO. Now it's very possible he falls back down to earth this season, but it's only 1 game.

Because he's a spotlight guy. He brings the spotlight on himself too...his comments about teammates, his taking the whole offseason to decide if he is going to play, calling a press conference in which everyone expects him to retire only to make it into a much ado about nothing conference...

I've defended him a lot on this board, but the crap he is taking is nothing compared to the mountains of praise he has received from announcers who have nothing better to say.

I like FS Greg Blue, he can flat out hit and make knock out blows all over the field. He will likely been replaced by Dwight Smith next week, but i think this Blue will be a good player. I heard they might put Blue at OLB with Greenway out.

That was a regularly scheduled conference for his annual celebrity golf tournament. It's not Favre's fault that the media ASSUMED he was going to talk about retirement.

ESPN rumor mill in action... The media created that whole controversy, not Favre.

Blue is a big hitter, but he needs to work on his coverage. He got burned a couple of times last night and was responsible for a lot of the 'bending' that the Minnesota defense did.

OLB? That could actually work out pretty well. He's a big enough hitter and a good enough tackler to be a sure thing there, and in the Tampa 2, having a good coverage linebacker would make sense...

Blue and Good coverage have never really been used together, it not one of his strong points, I love Greg Blue though, guy was a monster at Georgia.

How blown out of proportion was that press conference. Blame the media for that and not Favre. Favre has had that conference for 6 or 7 years now. Every year and roughly around that time. He'll have it next year. It was called to talk about his charity. He had no idea why they were there to ask him about his decision. It was a false rumor started by some media member. That was someone doing there job very poorly.

Ok, so let's give you the 'media blew this one out of proportion' point - he still delayed the decision and strung people along before he made a decision. The guy does like the media lights.

Even without that, if we are going to rave over his ability to throw off his back foot, it should only be fair to talk about how he is now trying to throw off the ground.

Not one response to the best post of the thread? Pathitic.

The NFL ranks defenses by yards allowed. Not only do the Lions have the #1 Defense in the NFC North after week one, they did it against the 2005 NFC Champs who had the #1 Offense in the league last year!

The Bears "D" had a pretty good game against the lowly Packers ... Big F'in Deal.

Wait till Marinelli's "D" gets on the field with the suspect Bear offense. The holes in Chicago will be exposed Sunday.

I will actually be pulling for the Lions here, then a Vikings loss, and Packers win, will even out the records a lil better [IMG]

Besides, if you are gonig to compare your effort to seattles #1 offense from last year, the bottom line is bears had #1 defense last year. Yards and Points. BTW, nfl ranks by yards, but victories come down to points.

anyoine who can not make up their mind and jeopardizing theur team past the draft is doing it for attention. If he was that reluctant to make the decision in the first place, he should not be playing right now.

And for teh record I have said that Brunnell is going to bust in Washington since he signed that 6 year whatever amount deal that Snyder gave him.

The lions defense was better then both of those Defenses lol, remember its only week 1
