IMO it's not worth it.
Na, Carter and RJ ain't worth KG. RJ is really a rising star in this league, and could very well be better than KG 2 or 3 years from now. I want KG too, but only if we give something like Carter, Collins, and picks.

Richard Jefferson is my favorite Net but realistically..I dont ever see that happening. It hard to compare what a big man is today to what a perimeter player will be in the future. But its hard to imagine Jefferson becoming an impact player to a Garnett level. Garnett might argueably be the best basketball player in this league..he might not be the best bigman, I think that goes to Shaq and Duncan. But I still think you can make a case for him as the best player as weird as it may seem since he isnt the best bigman. But he is way more versatile then either of those two...KG would be just as effective as a small forward as he is a power forward etc...you cant say that for either of those other two. Anyway so its alot to say that Jefferson will become the best 1 or 2 basketball players in this league. But I do think he can become a top 2 player at his position right now I think he is already top 5, but you have to consider the fact that T-Mac is pretty much a small forward, Lebron James is a small forward...then you have Artest and I think Jefferson comes right after, PP. Anyway I wouldnt make the deal, I would think about it tho but then I would pass. Carter, Collins and two first rounders is a good deal..Minny be taking a hit tho...so they would never do that but I like it from a Nets stand point...know I would love it.
I don't know, I'd be really tempted to make this trade and team Kidd with KG. If I were Minny I would rather take Kristic than Carter. Not because Kristic is better, but Carter and Jefferson are redundant players, plus they have already have Wally, Hassell, and McCants. At least Kristic could replace KG at PF. The trio of Kidd-Carter-Jefferson is great, but I think Kidd makes players look better than what they actually are. He takes a lot of pressure off his teammates and gets them the ball in stride. I think Kidd and KG give the Nets a better chance in the post season. PG - Kidd SG - Planinic, Wright, Murray? SF - KG PF - Kristic C - Collins Basically you put your best shooter or defender at the two guard and just dominate teams on the inside.
I don't like it for the Nets, I think they lose to much in terms of players who can score. RJ and VC is easily 40+ most nights and KG isn't going to replace all those and I don't think any of the other Nets could pick up the slack of RJ and VC on offense.

KG is not a good fit for New Jersey. He plays a kind of point-forward in a way. I think Jason Kidd and him would not be the best complement for each other as they're both offense-runners. RJ for Marcus Camby....
I always said that I dont Kidd is the best type of point guard to play alongside Garnett....mainly cause KG is a pick and roll bigman and Kidd is not a pick & roll guard. KG needs an effective player he can play the two-man game with in the half-court, Kidd isnt that. Now if you keep Jefferson or Carter then you get that two man play..and you have Kidd to lead the break with Jefferson or Carter on the wing and KG as the trailer..that would be pretty special. I think that the Nets would only be a true contender if they kept one of the two between Carter and Jefferson... I prefer keeping Jefferson, cause I think he brings things that would make us a spectacular all round team. Iaminge a rebounding combination of Kidd-Jefferson and KG. Kidd is the best rebounding PG, Jefferson is a top 2 rebounder at the 3 and KG over a full 82 is arguebly the best rebounder in basketball. That is a nasty combination on the defensive and offensive glass. And I also think we become a serious defensive team as well.....RJ is a much better defensive player then he has shown so far this year. The problem this year is he doesnt have any weakside help. And a player is only as good as his team allows him to be on defense. Its hard to stop guys like Tracy Mcgrady etc. when you have no help defense around you. And doubly diffcult when you dont have any shot blocking bigmen behind you to deter penetration. KG's defesive presence alone would out weight that of Krstic, Collins and Jackson because he deter guys at the rim. So that helps make guys around him a bit stronger on D. Kidd ? Jefferson Garnett Krstic maybe go with a two point guard starting lineup for now with Kidd and McInnis together...and try to work Murray back into the rotation.....but I likes
Whatever we do, please get rid of Collins some how, please.. I really dislike that guy and have for a long long time, so please GIVE HIM AWAY.
KG+Kidd would be deadly but i dont know about sending carter and jefferson away a better trade would be: KG+ Dupree for Carter, Collins and Linton Johnson Result: New jersey: Change in team outlook: -8.5 ppg, +2.0 rpg, and +0.2 apg. Wolves= Change in team outlook: +8.5 ppg, -2.0 rpg, and -0.2 apg.
Minny is wrong for trying to trade KG after his loyalty to the organization. If they respect him they will try to get him into a situation where he could possibly win a chip. No harm to NJ but they arent going to win a title no time soon. But i hope they will possibly get him along some high powered guard.

I think NJ have a great chance to win a championship as i said KG+Kidd=deadly Kidd has wanted to play with KG for a while now and if the nets can get KG without trading both; Jefferson and Carter they have a really good chance to win the championship
I can't see KG coming to the Nets. Minny won't settle for anything less then RJ and VC, and that would be terrible for both teams. NJ would have no swingmen, and Minny would have a logjam at the wing. I dont think Minny would accept a trade for VC and Collins. That trade would not help them at all IMO. I just can't see a KG to Jersey trade working, Especially since it's not really going to guarantee Jersey a title.

I'm just saying that Garnett will DECLINE in 3 years and RJ will IMPROVE, so things will change a little.
If i were NJ and this deal was on the table i'd take it before Minny came to their senses and pulled it.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Jerry West:</div><div class="quote_post">If i were NJ and this deal was on the table i'd take it before Minny came to their senses and pulled it.</div> Why? You think RJ and Carter for KG is fair? Minny knows we can give them the best deal, thats why they want both. In the end they will up getting a lot less from another team. Minny should know they won't get the same high level player in return. Their trying to get Carter and RJ, which is probably the best they can do. All im saying is Nets shouldn't give up both.
nope both carter and RJ for Garnett is not fair Garnett is one of the best players to ever play the game but he's getting old i would ship carter+few other players for KG anyday new line-up: Kristic Garnett Wright Jefferson Kidd
The only problem with this trade for NJ is that the lack of depth at SG could end up killing them when they need a big shot to win a game because I don't see RJ's 3pt shot being so great.
