Mitch Kupchack interview 06-24-07 at 2pm pacific Q: Hurt by criticism of Kobe Bryant? A: "Enough has already been said" about Kobe (will not comment) Q: Can you fix your roster, fix relationship? A: Yes, every relationship can be fixed. Q: Who's the insider? A: "Enough has already been said." Q: How's the roster, any uncertanties? A: 26-13 last January, played very well before the injuries... (same talk again). Q: Andrew Bynum, 10 ppg, 7 rpg, 2 bpg before January, where are you with him? A: He's been coming to practice everyday for the last month in the morning working out with his assistant coaches. Bynum's name is always mention on trades. He has a bright future in this league, skies the limit. Q: Is Andrew Bynum untouchable? A: No he's not. No untouchables, except for Kobe. That stance hasn't change. Will still build around Kobe. Q: Jordan Farmar's future? A: Very high on Jordan. No more Smush next year and still looking at bringing in another ball-handling guard still... but very high hopes for Jordan. Q: Keeping Luke Walton? A: Not allowed to talk to Luke until July 1st. Says Luke wants to remain a Laker. Q: Who stays and who goes to build around Kobe? A: Will be looking at the next 8 days, or even probably until the summer to make trades. Committed to doing whatever it takes to bring in good talent, but will not rush into trades just to make bad trades. Will pay luxury tax if need be, as long as they get good talent. Q: Where's the Laker's sitting on the draft? A: Lot of good quality big players and ball-handling point guards. Not a lot of draft prospects can make a big contributor right away, so looking more to trade or possibly move up on the draft. Q: How hard is it for you with everything that's been going on with you with the Kobe drama? A: "I'm used to it", worked with Jerry West and knows what to expect. He had better days, hopefully there'll be better days ahead. Very optimistic.

I don't even know why radio stations or newspapers bother interviewing Kupchak anymore. He's a broken record and doesn't give you any inkling into what the team is doing.
