Ok, so let me get this one straight. Either one of two cases: 1. They already have a GM in place (behind closed doors), and they have already confirmed his intention of extending Sam's contract, which is highly, highly unlikely. 2. The new GM, whomever he may be, will be forced to extend Sam, and would just have to live with it. Which is a recipe for disaster. Not that I am opposing signing extending Mitchell, but with the circumnstances being what they are, this just doesn't look healthy to me.
well we raptor fans have to look forward to more porous defense and poor end of game playcalling (management) for a few more years if sam "it ain't my fault" mitchell gets extended.
We're kinda stuck with the guy as it stands. I'm not a big fan of his but with all the instability around this club recently it seems like he's a lock to stick around - just for consistency's sake.
On the bright side, he has improved since when he first took the job. Whether he continues to improves remains open to speculation. I certainly hope that the organization hasn't made a decision already, though. Like Fever said, it just doesn't provide a good situation for the incoming GM. Unless its Embry...
