    Sports Betting Overview

Online MLB baseball betting experts are keeping a close eye on the defending World Series champion San Francisco Giants. So far, the sportsbook promo experts are watching a Giants team that is struggling to stay at .500. The pitching that took the Giants to the World Series last year seems to be having a problem getting started. The MLB scores that are going the Giants’ way are turning out to be slugfests. So, the Giants have the offense to defend their title and they are playing well in the field. If they can get their starting rotation back in form, then the Giants could be dangerous in the playoffs again.

The Arizona Diamondbacks are a fun team to watch this season. Their pitching is not the greatest, and they are extremely inconsistent at the plate. But the D-Backs have already registered some of the more entertaining fielding plays in MLB this season. Arizona has not made many substantial improvements to their bullpen or starting rotation, and that will keep them from having a winning season this year. But they remain a problem for teams that live by the long ball because the D-Backs can play the field. San Francisco loves to play long ball, and that sets up a very interesting game between these two teams.

    Arizona Diamondbacks
Veteran pitcher Joe Saunders takes the mound in this game and he is still trying to find his form of three years ago when he was a 17-game winner for the Angels. His first outing of this season did not give the indication that Saunders was finding his groove. He is 0-1 on the season with a 6.00 ERA. He only lasted three innings in his first start, and that means he had to turn the game over to the Arizona middle relief. If that is the case against the Giants, then the D-Backs could be in big trouble. Arizona is only one game out of .500 and they are 3-3 at home. They do hit the ball well in their own ballpark and they have the ability to keep the other team from hitting home runs.

    San Francisco Giants
Barry Zito starts for the Giants in this game and he is a pitcher that the Giants desperately need to get production out of. Zito is 0-1 on the season with a 5.56 ERA. His last start was against St. Louis and he pitched five nearly perfect innings allowing only one run. But in the sixth inning he was touched up for three runs before he even got an out and was pulled. Zito can find his groove against a batting order like the D-Backs, and the San Francisco defense is more than capable of backing Zito up.

    The Bottom Line
The Giants are slowly regaining their championship form, but it is a slow process. The starting rotation is struggling a bit and the bullpen has not been very supportive lately. But the Giants have the talent to turn their season around. The D-Backs, on the other hand, will have to be satisfied with playing entertaining baseball as opposed to good baseball.

    Pick: San Francisco Giants
