    Online Sports Betting Overview

The New York Yankees have some ground to make up after getting swept by the Boston Red Sox in a three-game home stand. With 2011 Belmont Stakes betting just around the corner, the Yankees find themselves two games behind the Red Sox in the AL East pennant race and getting ready to host another AL division leader in the Cleveland Indians. Horse betting experts know that you always put good money on the best horse, and when the Yankees’ best horse in CC Sabathia was beat up by the Red Sox for seven runs in one inning, the Yankees were ready to see a different team in the new Yankee Stadium.

The Cleveland Indians have only won two games in eight tries in the month of June so far. Where the Indians used to have a six or seven game lead over the Detroit Tigers in the AL Central, the lead is now only one game. The Indians are that good but desperate team that no one wants to face at any time. The Yankees could be ripe for the picking after coming off a three-game loss to Boston, but it remains to be seen if the struggling Indians will have enough to take advantage of the Yankees’ situation.

    New York Yankees
Long home stands are supposed to benefit the home team, but the MLB scores coming out of the new Yankee Stadium show a Yankee team that is unable to handle a hitting team like the Red Sox. The Yankees gave up 25 runs to the Red Sox in just three games, and many of those runs were given up by Yankees starters. The Red Sox series was so bad that Mariano Rivera hardly made an appearance because there was usually nothing to save. Luckily for the Yankees, the Indians do not hit like the Red Sox.

Bartolo Colon takes the mound for the Yankees to start off this series with the Indians. Colon is 4-3 on the season with a 3.39 ERA. Colon has been playing well as of late with back to back wins in his last two starts including a nine inning shutout of the Oakland A’s.

    Cleveland Indians
Absolutely nothing has gone right for the Cleveland Indians in the month of June. The month started off promising with the Indians blowing out the Toronto Blue Jays 13-9. But ever since that win, the Indians have gone 1-6 and have dropped to a near tie with the Detroit Tigers in the AL Central. For the most part, the Indians have been in the games they have lost this month. Which means a series against a struggling Yankees team could be good news for Cleveland.

Mitch Talbot takes the mound for the Indians with his 2-2 record and 4.18 ERA. Don’t let Talbot’s numbers fool you; he has been all aces on the road so far this season. Talbot is 2-0 on the road with a 0.61 ERA this season. He is the kind of shut-down pitcher the Yankees may have a lot of problems with.

    The Bottom Line
The Yankees and Indians are struggling, but there are enough elements of the Cleveland Indians’ game to think that it will be Cleveland that climbs out of their slump long before New York does.

    Pick: Cleveland Indians
