Soccer is way more physical that Basketball <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/NhazkGfLdWk&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/NhazkGfLdWk&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>
Football isn't as physical as American Football, but it's still a hard sport to play. The players need to be fit for 90 minutes with a ten-twenty minute break at half-time. Anyway, that ad didn't make me crack a smile.
Nothing like a good, knee breaking, hard slide tackle. My only problem with MLS in Portland is that PGE park is a terrible place to watch a soccer game.
soccer sucks mls in portland is a stupid idea, bound to lose millions of taxpayer dollars in the stadium deal.
Bitch please, soccer would be awesome. get off your snooty american bullshit and try to enjoy something you don't understand
i would like mls..but kenny vance made a good point, it kinda hinders the chance at anything else. i guess MLB is probably realistically not an option anytime soon. to bad
Think about the possibility of getting Mexican, British, or Brazilian players on the MLS squad? They will have a fan base, who "now" doesn't have to watch them on tv at home. They can come to PGE park, buy tickets, pay for parking / take max, stay in hotel rooms, etc. This is all "income" the city, local hotels, restaurants, etc will start realizing that they never had before. It will be gradual but nothing noticeable. Think about scouts, presidents, etc from other MLS clubs checking out our players. They will be spending money too. There will be a lot of press on Portland if the MLS grants us the expansion team. I don't see the problem in that in the next year or so as the possibility of commercials or sponsors might getting interested.
