Mo Taylor is over his flu, but the Rockets are now saying he has plantar fasciatis to justify keeping him on the injured list. Maybe this is a sign that Mo Taylor has lost his spot in the rotation.

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">With Maurice Taylor eligible and expecting to come off the injured list Thursday, the Rockets changed his malady but not his status.

After more than a week on the injured list with the flu, the Rockets did not activate him as he assumed they would, instead reporting that he had developed plantar fasciaitis.

Though the Rockets changed the injury, the five games he already spent on the injured list make him eligible to be moved to the active roster at any time.

But Wednesday, Taylor said he expected to return to the active roster and his place in the rotation.

"I don't see why they would keep me on (the injured list)," Taylor said. "I think they definitely will activate me. I don't see why I wouldn't just go back to doing what I was doing. I don't think because I got sick would change anything."</div>

Changes are being made I guess. Padgett has probably taken Taylor's role in the rotation, but I doubt he can give us the same offensive jolt as Taylor can. Padgett probably brings more to the table on hustling and defense though, so this is a smart move, although I don't get why we shouldn't activate him and keep him on the bench in case we need some offense.

apparently Mo still isn't 100% and is still getting his legs back after his bout with the flu

Sounds kinda fishy to me...I guess if he isn't 100% there is no point putting him back on, but even though i've never been a huge fan of Mo Taylor, I just doesn't seem right leaving him on the IL when he basically said he was OK to be activated...

If he's no fully fit yet, I'd rather not risk taking him off the list but as of now, we don't really need him just yet. Even though Padgett has been doing great lately, I'd think it's best if we at least put Mo back on the bench to help us in scoring just in case we need some help. He might not have his scoring game back so we'll see what happens later on.

In related news, Taylor also just went on the IR due to the flu on my ESPN 2K5 season...

    just kidding...

but I'm sure this means Taylor must work really hard to regain his spot...I'm sure its likely he'll be moved before the deadline...

With the large contract that Mo has, I think its a waste to keep him on the IL. Sure he's been hurting us but any trade value which he had (which isn't much) would be all gone by now. So what do we do with his contract? And does anyone know how long it is for?

I don't know i think spoon's contract is big too ..and he's his replacement on the IL. I'm most disappointed with rod strickland taking barrett's minutes. Barrett is a MUCH better player than rod and he actually can make plays rather than rod. Rod < charlie ward.<Barrett<Sura

Well, Rod Strickland is sadly the best passer we have at point guard. He does bring a lot of other deficiencies though, such as the lack of shooting ability. However, he can give you a fair amount of assists in a short spurt.

well I agree Mo shouldn't see the same minutes as padgett or howard, but I'd still like to see him on the roster instead of <strike>F##king</strike> rod strickland

<font color="red">Even though you do that, everyone can still see what you mean. Cussing is not allowed on the boards.-Trip</font>

Rod does help us in a certain way. He gets assists in the little minutes that he gets in games. That's his way of contributing. I'd also like to see Barrett get more minutes but both of them have different types of games. I guess JVG wants to see what Rod can give us but it's been quite a while now since Barrett has seen a lot of minutes. I say we give Barrett more minutes as the experience is more important for him. Like Trip said, Rod is one of the better passers on the team and I think so too and that's probably what JVG wants to see from our PGs.

Padgett is better than Mo, so this doesn't matter too much. Mo Taylor is always injured. But Padgett .. wow does this guy ever miss ? he has to be shooting close to 70% or so in the past week.
