The Pistons drafted Greg Monroe due to skills as a passer from the high post. He struggled for three out of five games during summer league, but the team still was impressed with him. The plan is to run the offense through him at some points during games. "Smart -- extremely high basketball I.Q.," Pistons president of basketball operations Joe Dumars told the Detroit Free Press. "I think if you watch the amount of times he touches the ball, how many times something positive happens, whether he gets fouled, whether he scores, whether he makes this great pass. We haven't had that before, so I'm very pleased with him. He's going to get stronger. He's going to learn the league more. "He's going to be a 6-11 guy you can run your offense through. I'm happy with what I've seen so far from Greg Monroe." Source: Detroit Free Press
