Of course a "return to basketball-related activity" most likely means nothing like playing in a real game, or even hard practice... It sounds like Monta is on schedule for a January/February return to the court, but I wouldn't read too much into that Thanksgiving thing meaning he's coming back early.
Basketball activities, I assume, means starting to get him in shape. He can't play until the 31st game of the year anyways, so the best he can do is practice and get ready for when he is able to play.
Well, technically, he can come back Friday, December 19th against the Atlanta Hawks. However, that game is in the middle of a 5-game road trip, so he'll probably stay home for that. The road trip concludes in Miami on the 23rd, and the Warriors return home to host the Boston Celtics the day after Christmas, December 26th. My bet is that Monta tries to play the day after Christmas against Boston...
My bet is that Monta probably won't play until after the new year. It gives him plenty of time to recover, so he doesn't have to rush, and it allows him to get in to better shape, hopefully preventing him from getting injured again. That's just my thought though.
Well that's a bit of a Thanksgiving treat to hear that he is on his way back. As it was said, it may still be a while until he gets real NBA PT. But at least there is progress being made. That's good to hear.
i've wondered why he isn't on the bench with the rest of the team...is it because of his suspension or what??? once he "returns to the team" and starts practicing, will he be in attendance??? what the hell is monta doing while his teammates are on the court??
I assume it's mostly due to the suspension, though him sticking around home doing rehab could be part of it.
