I think we have to go with Monta because Curry isn't ready to lead yet and the Curry-Morrow back court has not been given a chance to develop. Without Monta, we don't have the talent to compete. It does not make much sense to trade Monta and Beans for a stud player because then we would just have a stud player and not enough talent to compete. Right now, we have to go with the young players and develop them for the future. I can live with a Monta-Curry back court, but we have to improve upon it. Ellis can play some SF, too.
It sucks that we have to live with a Curry and Ellis backcourt because we traded away our only true 6'6 shooting guard in Marco Belinelli. I'd rather have Ellis now because his upside is through the roof... but if Curry ends up making all his guys better in the future, the value is in having that true point guard that glues the team together. Nobody knows if our 1 on 5 basketball has to do with other Warriors standing around not knowing what to do or Monta Ellis not being the floor general calling plays. The chemistry hasn't been there which is generally what happens when we turn over the roster, get injured, and we have open offense, and we don't have strong inside players to bail us out in halfcourt. We're dying for frontline help and we never get an answer from the draft or from free agency. When we're doing this badly, it just goes to show you how valuable a guy like Biedrins or Turiaf is. We have no toughness at those positions when they're out. Ellis has some chemistry with Beans, while Curry hasn't really played with him yet.
