Both are EXTREMELY similar. They are both quick, good ball-handlers, and excel in an up-tempo offense. I have no idea who to take, but I would say Barbosa is more consistent. What do you guys think?

Barbosa is better. Monta will be better.Great comparison, they are very similar. More people will take Barbosa because they've seen him excel on national tv, and monta's been on national tv about a grand total of 15 times and has had off games in more than half of them.

I prefer the Brazillian blur. Monta Ellis has very limited range and consistency. Barbosa can stay consistent for long periods of time. Just had an off-series against San Antonio.

Ellis doesn't have limited range either, his midrange jumper is gold, his threes didn't fall for him this year.

Though probably because he was fighting through some injuries.

Ellis has a beautiful mid range jumper, his three was hot last year, but it didn't fall this year. I don't think Ellis was very inconsistent this year. His role was constantly changing, whereas Barbosa is the sixth man/ back up PG. In my memory Ellis had maybe two or three bad games in the regular season.

Having "limited range" means you don't shoot well farther than 15-18 feet. I think Barbosa is better, but if Monta is at least an average decision maker he will be better unless Barbosa makes a huge improvement there. Leandro has turned into a very good scorer and is getting better on D, but I never want to see him at point guard.

Monta is a lot better on defense and draws a lot of charges with his speed, but I think its his ability to drive and create fouls that will make him a lot vetter than Barbosa in the future. Simply put: Barbosa is better now, but Monta will be a lot better than him in the future

I'd probably take Barbosa since he has been in more big games and could bring some sorta of experience
