Monta Ellis, 22, currently plays for the Golden State Warriors.</div> http://www.clarionledger.com/apps/pbcs.dll...7/NEWS/80317053 Heres a blurb from Hu: <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Just came across this AP story, as well as this one from the Clarion-Ledger, the local paper in Jackson, Miss. From AP: The brother of Golden State Warriors guard Monta Ellis has been released from the hospital after being shot in the back twice over the weekend. Ellis was found Sunday afternoon by his mother, who went to his house to check on him. Not sure what to add to this, other than that Monta -- who presumably had been informed of his brother's shooting -- was at practice in Oakland earlier tonight. He went through drills and was joking around with his teammates as usual. The Warriors were scheduled to leave for Sacramento right after their late practice, and there was nothing to suggest that Monta wouldn't be on the team bus or making his own way there. Will update if there are rumblings otherwise.</div> http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/blogs/warriors/index? Can someone remind me again why Monta would want to go play back in Memphis? Jackson is a really, really bad area and with the whole Sean Taylor thing I'm thinking that if I'm a pro athlete from the ghetto I don't want to live anywhere near where I grew up. Too many desperate, poor people around town know you, your family, where you live, etc. Cash in and move the family out here Monta.
Wow, not to make light of the situation but the durable genes must run in the family. His brother gets shot in the back twice and gets released from the hospital!
Lol we posted at the same time and someone merged it like a minute later. Don't worry about it Kensaku, you beat me by a few seconds anyway.
Maybe Monta will buy his family a new house in a nice neighborhood once he gets his payday next year. It's hard to tell how much love he has for his brother because he's always so low-key about the whole situation (his brother being a bball star but was caught up in the "game"). I wonder if he feels bad for him or if he resents him or what. I would think he would want to help out his family and stuff. Hard to tell.

I would think it would help his family overall, but one can't assume money solves these kind of problems.
