Sometimes, it's not what players say, but how they say it. Sometimes, it's what they don't say that's important.

Holland, acquired last week from Denver, couldn't have come off any better in his public comments since the trade.

"It's going to take me a little while because I don't want to get on the field until I'm ready," he said the other day. "I gotta be accountable to my teammates. I can't be half-stepping when I get out on the field."

What's not to like about that honest assessment.

Holland said the Cowboys' playbook is considerably different from the Broncos', but it's similar to the Saints' playbook, which is where he spent the first four seasons of his career.

"I'm trying to group things from New Orleans and compare them to Dallas," he said. "There's some different terminology, but I'll get it down."

Jerry Jones said the Cowboys traded for Holland becasue they wanted some more experience on the offensive line in case they suffered another injury later in the season. And heading into the off-season, Holland and Kyle Kosier can wage a nice contest to see who wins the starting job.

The one thing Holland didn't say was equally impressive. he refused to rip the Broncos.

You could tell from his facial expression, and the fact he almost said something that he didn't like being portrauyed as an overweight, out-of-shape player.

"I'm already at my playing weight," Holland said.

When asked about the Broncos, Holland hesitated a moment before saying, "I'm not in Denver anymore. I'm not thinking about them. I'm a Dallas Cowboy."

I expect Holland to beat our Proctor in week 2. I think Holland wasn't ready to start for week one, so the coaches went with Proctor. But once Holland has a grasp of the offense, his size/strength makes him a better fit on our huge OL.
