<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>A league source said Saturday that the Hornets are involved in serious discussions to sign Peterson, a veteran shooting guard whom the team signed to an offer sheet in 2004 but the Raptors matched.Five teams have expressed an interest in Peterson, but the source said Peterson is seriously considering the Hornets offer, as well as one from the Utah Jazz. -- New Orleans Times-Picayune</div>He could be a good fill-in for Derek Fisher on the Utah Jazz.
Morris Peterson would be a great fit for New Orleans. The Hornets are very weak at the 2 and Mo Pete could fit in well as a starter alongside Peja and Chris Paul. I hope he ends up in New Orleans.<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>yup hes goin to the jazz.sucks to see him go</div>What's your source on this?

The rumors about him going to New Orleans have been going on for at least 2 years.NOH signed him to an offer sheet I believe last year too but TO matched it.The rumor before was Morris Peterson for Jamaal Magloire but that was when Magloire was a Hornet.

He hasn't been able to do it over the past 3 years and it's unlikely that he will be able to this year. This is what makes Julian Wright a great addition. When Peja is down they have a solid SF starter to play. I could see the Hornet's making the playoffs next season.
If Morris Peterson were looking for an opportunity to truly be the guy at the 2, he'd take the Hornets offer. If he comes here, he's our starter there, hands down. I doubt they're looking to sign him as insurance off the bench in case Peja goes down for another extended period of time. (something I don't think will happen). Now, with the Jazz; they've got Brewer and Morris Almond to help them out and clean up their need of a perimeter shooter at the 2 and the 3. I think we can pull this guy in based on opportunity, but of course the Jazz are in a better situation to make a serious run in the playoffs like this past season.
I don't know why we'd need him now that we have Delfino and Kapono off the bench at the swingman positions...maybe we're looking to do a sign + trade....?
I really want to sign and trade this guy. Especially if we can dump Graham in there. That gives us some cap room, so we can sign at least 1 more player without having to trade.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>NOH signed him to an offer sheet I believe last year too but TO matched it.</div>He wasn't a free agent last year. And I've never heard of him being interested in New Orleans until this offseason. He's been a Raptor forever. I think we'll know where he decides to sign this week. He's visiting Utah and New Orleans and those are the top two suitors. I'll say Utah is his destination.
I think theres 90% chance hes going to utah because he wants to wineven though NO is a better situation for him, utah is the likely choice because its just more favorable

In the Summer of 04 he signed an offer sheet with the team, but the Raps matched the offer soon after. He even commented that Toronto wasn't being loyal to him and he wanted a fresh start. He's been interested in New Orleans and other teams before, but he was an RFA at the time and the Raps were hell bent on keeping him.
