Just reported, A-Rod will be DHing tonight because of a tight right quad. Why he's playing at all makes no sense to me since he's due to join the Yankees on Monday.
We make fun of the Mets doctors but who are our trainers and who is overseeing these rehabs. He has had months of running in pools etc, Jeter too, it makes no sense to me.
These guys are playing in games. I don't see what their trainers and rehab have to do with it. You're talking about guys who are getting up near 40. Pushing themselves in rehab. This is just reality. The fountain if HGH...I mean youth is no longer flowing.
It's almost comical that this season is just one injury after another, yet they are still in contention for the wildcard. When looking on paper they should be way out of it. The worst part of all is the fact that everyone that has returned from the DL has gone right back on in less than a week. It's simply unbelievable.
If not for all the injuries this is clearly a playoff team. They would most likely be in the first place.
Ounce for Ounce, this team has over achieved by far. And for that reason, is why it is so frustrating to watch, you almost get there and there is another major injury. Grand y comes back, then he's gone. Tex comes back, then he is gone, Jeter the same. To be fair to Cashman, no general manager could plan for this many injuries and then the bad luck of having most of them repeat themselves. It doesn't excuse the Farm System, our off season signing, but we will most likely break the record for the most DL in a single Yankee system, With Almonte I think it was at 56 and the record for the season is 60. Or as fox pointed out yesterday, we have over 1600 career home runs on the DL.
