<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">First it was Ron Artest in a solo. Then Al Harrington made it a duet. And now Sarunas Jasikevicius and Stephen Jackson have made it a chorus. Jasikevicius and Jackson, part of Wednesday's eight-player trade between the Indiana Pacers and Golden State, echoed the complaints of other traded Pacers regarding coach Rick Carlisle's offense, which they regarded as restrictive. Jasikevicius, interviewed by telephone by a television station in Tel Aviv, Israel, said he had asked for a trade from the Pacers "a long time ago" and had hoped to be moved in the offseason. "All that happened in Indiana was strange," Jasikevicius said. "(Team president) Larry Bird and (CEO) Donnie Walsh bring players they think can fit the team's style, which was supposed to be free and fast, but the coach keeps on with his own style. "They brought me in as a point guard, but I was used most of the time as a shooting guard, who runs . . . and then gets stuck in the corner waiting for the ball. Everybody knows my style is to bring the ball up the floor and play pick and roll, but it didn't happen in Indiana." Jackson is confident he'll find a niche in Warriors coach Don Nelson's up-tempo offense. "It's night-and-day," Jackson told Bay Area reporters in a conference call. "Nellie has a lot of confidence in his point guards and guys that are out there to get the team in its offense and get shots. Rick wants to control a lot of the offense, control the game. That's one thing we didn't see eye-to-eye on."</div> Source
Dunleavy won't complain about the Warriors. He's not allowed to. He got all the chances, minutes, touches, etc with this team in various styles and tempos and he never succeeded in any of them. From half court to open court he's been a disappointment.
<div class="quote_poster">custodianrules2 Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">Dunleavy is 0 for 4 right now and we're at the half.</div>Yeah, although Murph looks like he's having a decent game. 0-1 with 2 turnovers for Ike, ouch. It's hard for Ike to be effective if he's not a focal point of the offense, that will probably dog him his entire career.
He's definitely not being shy putting up shots. 15 shots in only 20 minutes. This year in Oakland, he only put up 15 shots or more in four games, and in only one of those games did he shoot over 40%.
I think Murphy will be the best pickup for the Pacers. Tonight's game shows that he's back to the old Murphy. But I'm sure Carlisle will expect much more from him on the defensive end. As for Dunleavy, he is going to be inconsistent and drive the coach and fans wild. I noticed he was more tight lipped tonight, but that gape of his will be back in no time. I'm not sure about Ike. He's short, doesn't adapt well and is a slow learner. He may have even more problems getting the plays under Carlisle than Nellie.
