<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">NEW YORK -- Adam Morrison made his Madison Square Garden debut last night, and before the game Charlotte head coach Bernie Bickerstaff, compared him to Tom Chambers, one of his former players. And when he was an emerging scoring star at Gonzaga University, Morrison was often compared to Larry Bird. Morrison sees an obvious connection. "It's cool," Morrison said, "but the biggest comparison is because I'm white. That's what happens. It's not a knock on anything, but all the great white players coming in in the last few years, everyone says 'Larry Bird.' It's the first thing they say. But it's not a bad thing, it's a good thing. "It's obviously cool to be compared in that light. But you have to realize what he did on the court, winning three championships and three straight MVP awards." So, to whom would Morrison compare himself? A European player, of course. "I try to emulate (Bird), but I'm pretty much like myself. I'm a fan of (Dirk) Nowitzki. I would like to play like him, but it's pretty tough." Isiah Thomas, who has been roundly criticized for talking to the Nuggets' Carmelo Anthony on the floor before Saturday's brawl and allegedly instigating the whole thing, was asked if he would stop talking to opposing players now, and said he wouldn't change anything about himself. "I'm going to be me," he said. "I've gotten far in life being myself and I'm not going to change who I am and what I stand for and what I'm about. I think I've done all right in my life and I'm not going to change who I am, what I stand for and what I'm about." Thomas said people he has met and spoken to lately have been supportive. "I've had a lot of nice things said to me," he replied. "Nobody's had the courage to come to me and say things like what you guys have written and said, but that's okay." Quentin Richardson missed his third consecutive game with a strained back and there is no timetable for his return. Thomas said he hasn't undergone any special tests, and all he can do is take time off until it heals. </div> Source
Adam is one of the most level headed guys in the NBA, you can tell by the way he conducts himself and talks to the media. He's already got the maturity factor that alot of guys are still searching for.
Morrison will never be even an average rebounder for his size. That alone should disqualify him from any comparisons to Bird.

I think he'll be fine if he can make his shots and hustle his butt off. I think it's funny he looks nowhere near like an nba player. In fact he does look like a 70's porn star like I-Miss-MJ pointed out. It's the mustache. http://sports.ign.com/articles/713/713596p1.html
