Moss says mood affecting playESPN.com news servicesOAKLAND, Calif. -- Do people work best when they're happy, or should professionalism be motivation enough? Oakland Raiders team captain Randy Moss and coach Art Shell seem to have different viewpoints.Moss, asked Monday about dropping more passes than usual this season, said perhaps his lack of happiness has affected his play."Maybe because I'm unhappy, and I'm not too much excited about what's going on, so my concentration and focus level tends to go down when I'm in a bad mood," Moss said. "So all I can say is if you put me in a good situation and make me happy, man, you get good results."</div>http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2661433Am I the only person who finds this funny? Being sad should in no way affect somebodys ability to play football.
But it does... obviously players aren't gonna play as hard when they're not in the position they want to be in. Just look at Vince Carter's last games in Toronto. He didn't want to play for Toronto anymore, so he played like bullshit. Mankind is just petty like that.

Cmon man, that's no excuse.
It's not that he can't perform, it's that he doesn't want to / doesn't see no point in it since his team is garbage.

Any team with a terrible offensive line and no run game is going to have the record that they have... If Moss caught everything thrown his way they'd still have 2-3 wins.
Their team has no hopes of doing all that much with their season, teams, players, fans and the media ALL know that. You think Randy Moss doesn't know that? Why bust ass when theres no reason?

He is supposed to be the leader of that offense and he has to set the example. Right now, the only example he is setting is the losers mentality of not trying his hardest because it 'wont make a difference'.
