In my opinion the most improved player this year is a toss up between three players Zach Randolph, Erik Dampier, or Corey Maggette. First case to be made is randolph this guy developed him self this year from roughly 9 points last year into a 20 points a game 10.4 rebound guy also averaging 2 assists in the process also recieving all star consideration and was one of the reason theblazers where in the playoff run until the final week. Dampier also had a great year becoming a double double machine averaging 12 points 12 rebounhds this year also bringing all star consideration to him self and alot of extra insentive in the trade market if the warriorsa were to trade him this off season. And lastly is maggette this guy has improved his scoring in each of his years in the league this year he has im proved his scoring by 4 points from 16 last year to 20 a game this year and has become the swing man on a very talented clippers team who last season took the first step into becoming a good team by resigning brand and maggette. So those are who I think deserve it who do you think will win it?
You left of the most obvious choice Mike Redd He has turned from a bench player into an all-star and has led his team to a top 4 finish. Randolph is a very worthy choice. Anytime you put up a double double for the season in the tough west you deserve plenty of credit For me It's a two horse race for this award, the two guys I have mentioned above Dampier has had a good season no doubt but we all know why that has happened Contract year.

Yeah I think he might get it he came from the 2nd round draft pick to an all-star not to many do that.He pulled his avarage of about 15ppg to about 22ppg.
^No body even thought about Boozer as a candidate? He has developed more than Dampier and Maggette this season, and he's getting great now. He's the most improved after Randolph I belive, but Zach has told ESPN that his big improvment is only caused by more minutes.
There is so MANY to choose from. I would give it to Zach Randolph anyways. If you look at his stats. Its incredible. Second runner up would be Michael Redd. Like AllNet said from bench player to All-Star. Next would be Carlos Boozer. Zach Randolph Stats I dont if any of you guys watching Making the Band on MTV. But Zach Randolph sure looks like Ness. Anyways most of you guys probably seen this but you can vote on NBA to see who will get MVP, R.O.Y etc.. NBA Award Ballots
i have voted for rookie of the year but i think more its just a poll and doesnt really count to the actually award because the actually award is voted on by sports analists and journalists and those people .
Erik Dampier is most improve player of the year cause last year he did like nothing and this year he was almost an allstar. he is the top 5 centers in the nba.
I like Randolph. He went from a descent bench player to the player that they're now building their team around. He brought his averages up in about every statistical category. Micheal Redd also deserves consideration. But, each player is an example of what happens when you finally get the minutes you deserve.
What about Ginobili? Not just from the statistics hes turned to a very important player for the spurs dont you think? Of course, hes got several turnovers too but compared to last season, he has improved.
I think that it's hands down Randolph, and I'm surprised that he isn't going to get it unanimously. Who really improves their level of play? It's almost always a deal with minutes or touches. When Rose got it he went from role player to someone the Pacers subbed in to get points from. JO didn't play more than 15 minutes a game in Portland and gets traded to Indy. Tracy was a wingman in Toronto and then he was THE man in Orlando, so he got more touches. So I don't buy the argument that Randolph shouldn't get it just because he said he is getting the minutes now. There's a reason why he's getting those minutes, and its because Cheeks knows he's more ready to handle the NBA bump and grind than before. From averaging chump change to 20-10, that leaves you with no question. In the words of David Aldridge, 'It's not rocket science.'
most improverd player ronald murray seattlle sonics, rqndolph has changed a lot, but when flip played a good amount of time he average 20 and last year only 3. Maggette has changed but as years grow he will just get better, so it wasnt the most significant change. Dampier has a possible fluke rule, and might go backl to last years production, but we'll see, but as of now Flip is My MIP.
Ya know, Ginobili shouldn't get it, he has many years in other internatinal leagues before NBA, and he hasn't improved that much. I think this is the top 3: 1. Randolph 2. Boozer 3. Murray And why do you always don't count Boozer, he's better than many of those guys you said.

I would love to see Boozer get this award, but there are somany good choices it's had to say who's going to win it.
I think Randolph is the likely winner, but I'm going to throw in another name. While he won't win, he deserves some recognition for his improvement this season: Mark Blount http://www.nba.com/playerfile/mark_blount/...x.html?nav=page
^Yeah, you're right... the anonymous players on team who's bringing every night should have their props too.
