I chose a fielder and a pitcher for each.Underrated: Grady Sizemore (Darkhorse pick for MVP, he can do it all)Ben Sheets (Often Injured pitcher, when healthy is probably top five)Overrated:Juan Pierre (He can run, but he is a poor fielder, and he has a poor batting average)Dontrelle Willis (After a brilliant rookie season, he has cooled off, and he gives up a ton of home runs)
Underrated- Michael Young: A great all around player who thrives in the clutch situations of a game yet he is always over looked because of Derek Jeter, Miguel Tejada and in some cases Alex Rodriguez- Brandon Webb: The reigning NL Cy Young winner posts the 5th best era+ among all active starting pitchers yet when you ask someone who they think are the top pitchers in the game you will hear names like John Smoltz, Jason Schmidt, Dontrelle Willis, Jake Peavy etc... before any mention of him.Overrated- Matt Holliday: looking at his home/road splits its easy to see that he is a product of Coors Field.- Carlos Zambrano: He made the list because people tend to ignore how his emotions have a negative effect on his performance. When he is under control he is one of the best pitchers out there but when his emotions get the best of them (happens too often) he becomes average at best.
UnderratedCasey Blake- This guy goes unnoticed since he is with the indians. Blakes probably one of the best contact hitters in baseball. The guy can play anywhere in the OF, 3B, and 1B. He is going to really have a great year this year for the Indians.Jake Westbrook- This guy would be of been a stud if the indians would of gave him run support when he pitched. His ERA was among the best of the AL pitchers. I think the indians are going to really score a lot of runs this year, so I think he will win around 15 games this year.OverratedIchiro- Some people may think im crazy, but from his first two years in the league to last year his numbers have went down considerably. Hes just not the same ichiro any more at all.Trevor Hoffman- Dude needs to get out of the league while he still can be known as a good closer. Each his saves keep getting lower and lower, my advice to Trevor would be to retire right now...I mean he only throws about 78-80...just retire buddy you dont have the same stuff anymore.

He was the only person not playing in Boston or New York that actually ESPN talked about. He's an amazing player, but he's not underrated at all.I do think Placido Polanco is underrated. Almost never talked about, but his injury probably cost Detroit the division title.
How could you say that Carlos is overrated. 1)He is a great pitcher2)Best hitting pitcher in the MLBSo I'm just wondering how he can be overrated
